A useful quotation starts with a defined product. Send the following details so the scope and commercial terms can be checked together.
- Product and specification: a reference photo, drawing, model or required standard.
- Quantity and packing: trial order, expected repeat volume, unit pack and carton requirements.
- Samples and documents: ask about sample availability, cost, inspection and required technical documents.
- Delivery and price basis: destination, target date, MOQ, lead time and the requested Incoterm, such as FOB with a named port.
